Below are some commonly asked questions and answers you may find helpful.

  1. I don't know where to start, can you help me?

    Before we ever get near a camera we conduct a research meeting with you where we learn about your business and define the aims and objectives for your video. This helps us to fully understand your needs. Some examples of questions we ask are:

    • "What is the outcome you want to achieve?"
    • "Who is your target audience?"
    • "Where will you be using the video?"

    By the end of this meeting we will both have a clear idea and vision of what we are going to deliver, how we will deliver it, and when the project is expected to be signed off.

  2. What type and style of video do I need?

    There are many different types of videos to choose from; but the key to finding the right type for your business is to know what the purpose and desired outcome of the video production is.

    For example, filmed video is great for:

    • Showcase videos
    • Promotional videos
    • Event videos
    • Testimonial videos
    • Talking head videos

    Whereas whiteboard animation videos and animated videos are really good for:

    • Communicating a message
    • Breaking down complex concepts and processes.

    As for the style of video, that depends on the aim of the video. If you would like to demonstrate the features and benefits of your product, then a product introduction video would be ideal. However, if your aim is to build trust and promote your brand a testimonial or case study video would be best.

  3. What is the video production process?

    We understand that a video project can seem like a huge, daunting undertaking. We will lead the project, and you will have a dedicated team member acting as your point of contact, ensuring excellent communication at every stage of the process.

    We have developed a unique ‘7 Step Video Success Strategy’ which streamlines the whole video production process, ensuring that you receive a smooth running, professional, and risk free solution to your video requirements.

  4. How long does it take to film and edit a video?

    Every project is different, but we typically complete projects in 2-6 weeks. If the project is simple and straightforward it will be 2-3 weeks. If it has a lot of graphics, or needs several stakeholders to approve the different edits then it may be longer depending on how quickly we receive feedback.

    We have our own production team who are able to work flexibly and, if previously agreed, we can further reduce this turnaround time.

    Our film production team have been known to take on a project on Monday morning and hand in the completed project the same afternoon; so tight deadlines aren’t a problem for us.

  5. How much will my video production cost?

    This is one of our most commonly asked questions and the answer depends on several factors, such as:

    • The number of filming locations required
    • The number of videos we are producing
    • How many days filming time is required
    • The number of crew numbers required
    • How complex the video is, i.e will it include motion graphics, animation?
    • Whether professional presenters are required

    We can give you an idea of cost after an initial conversation. We work with clients who have a range of budgets, so please give us a call and we can discuss your individual requirements.

  6. Can you help me with video marketing?

    Yes we can.

    Video marketing is a term that tends to be used to cover the process of increasing the chance that your video gets found and watched by the intended audience, ensuring that you then see a return on your investment. 

    Several key things make up video marketing and they include: using video SEO, paid video advertising, and video distribution. Video marketing is an on-going process, and is particularly effective when built into a marketing strategy for the videos.

    We have expert knowledge of video marketing, and our production process includes using a variety of methods and techniques that will increase your video’s effectiveness.

    We work with you from the pre-production stage, right through to when the video is complete, to ensure that your video gets the best possible chance at being successful.

  7. How far will you travel to film a video?

    The answer to this is -  anywhere!

    Although we have a green screen studio in Berkshire, most of our filming work is out on location and we have clients all over the UK and Europe. We've even filmed in the Caribbean.

  8. How long should my video be?

    The length of your video is directly related to the purpose of the video, and one of the first questions we ask you is 'how and where are you going to use your video?'

    The further down the sales funnel your viewers are, the longer the video they will be prepared to watch, as they will have built more trust in your business.

    For example, we advise that a video on a Home page is an ideal length at 45-60 seconds long, and a demo video of a product or service 60-90 seconds long.
    A sales video, or more detailed case study could be 3-5 minutes long, as by then the viewer will be willing to invest more time on watching, as they need more detail and reassurance as they move through the decision making process. Training videos can be longer still.

    Viewers have short attention spans so grab their attention, keep it, and then lead them to take the action you intend them to.

  9. How much input do you need me to have?

    Every client we work with is unique, and we are happy for you to have as much or as little involvement in the video production as you wish.

    As an experience video production company we are fully able to handle the whole project and production processes, but always welcome and value client input at all stages.

    Our process ensures that communication with you is excellent, and you are asked for feedback at different milestones in the editing process.

    Ultimately, it is your video, and we are 100% committed to making sure that you are fully satisfied with the end product.

  10. Will filming be disruptive to the day-to-day running of our business?

    You may be concerned that the filming will be disruptive to the day-to-day running of your business. You needn't worry!

    We keep disruption to an absolute minimum by carefully scheduling and planning our video shoots. Our shoots typically have a crew of 2-3 people, who oversee the whole filming process. We work closely with you to produce a schedule for each day of the shoot that ensures your team can carry on with business as usual.

  11. Can I have music and voiceover in my video production?

    Yes, absolutely! In fact a professional voiceover can add a real polished touch to the production. We have a number of voiceover artists that we work with, and can provide you with a selection of different samples, so that you can choose which you prefer.

    There are occasions when it's better to have a more personal touch and your own employees or clients delivering the message, and we can discuss this with you.

    Music can also add a different dimension to a video and again, we can provide you with a selection of music to choose from that will complement the video. We then edit this into the video production.

  12. Do we need a professional presenter?

    The answer to this is - it depends!

    If the filming involves a person introducing a product or service then we’ll need to think about how that person will come across on camera. A trained presenter is used to being in front of the camera, so they will come across as natural and relaxed. They will be able to deliver the script with ease, and at a good pace. They can also be a cost effective option, as your staff do not need to take time away from work to be filmed.

    We will help source the right presenter for your production.

    However, some types of videos, such as testimonial videos and case studies do require either your staff or clients to be on camera. In this instance our team are used to getting the best from whoever is in front of the camera.

    We can advise on which option is best during the pre-production stage of the whole process.

  13. What equipment do you use?

    We film everything using HD video cameras. Our camera models include broadcast quality Canons and Go Pros, we also own a drone, which really adds a different dimension to filming.

    The equipment that we use, all of which are portable, includes:

    • Cameras
    • A lighting kit
    • Lapel and boom mics
    • An autocue
    • A green screen

    Our editing team uses professional video editing software which includes Final Cut Pro X, Adobe premier and Motion to edit 3D digital motion graphics and Davinci colour for achieving perfect colour.

    We also have our own fully equipped green screen studio in Berkshire.

    We continually invest in new equipment and software in order to keep up to date with new technology and industry standards.

  14. In what format will I receive my video?

    We can supply your finished video in any format you require. In the main we are asked by clients to upload completed videos to their YouTube channels, but we can upload videos to any hosting platform. If you don’t already have an account on a video-hosting platform, we can assist you in creating one.

    We can also provide your video on .mp4, .mov, dvd or any other format free of charge. The final video will be ready to play on your chosen platform, whether that be a DVD player, website, laptop, phone or tablet.
